ARZEP NASAL SPRAY contains Azelastine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines. It is used to treat allergic rhinitis in adults and in children (aged 6 years or older).

Allergic rhinitis (also known as hay fever) is an allergic response caused due to sensitivity of an individual against various allergens such as pollens, dust, moulds or flakes of skin from certain animals. It can occur seasonally or year-round (perennial) and is often characterized by inflammation of the inner lining of the nose accompanied by nasal congestion, repeated sneezing, and red, watery, or itchy eyes.

Use ARZEP NASAL SPRAY as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, the number of sprays and the duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

ARZEP NASAL SPRAY is an anti-allergic medication. It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the nasal tract (such as histamines, prostaglandins, leukotrienes) that cause allergic reaction, inflammation and swelling. As a result, it reduces the onset of allergic symptoms and relieves unpleasant symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use ARZEP NASAL SPRAY as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Keep the tip of the nozzle inside your nose. Gently spray the medicine inside the nose.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose, a number of sprays and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Avoid contact of ARZEP NASAL SPRAY with your eyes, ears or mouth. If contact happens accidentally, rinse it off with water immediately.

COMMON

  • Bitter taste

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Throat irritation:

Gargle your throat with salt water twice a day. Always try to drink warm water. Avoid chilled, cooled, or sweetened food items or beverages. Drinking turmeric milk or ginger tea mixed with honey and pepper powder can ease the soreness. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Headache:

Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if required. Do not consume alcohol. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Dizziness:

If you feel dizzy, keep your eyes closed and sit or lie down. Do not drive or operate machinery. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

BREASTFEEDING

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy or tired after using ARZEP NASAL SPRAY.

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol while using ARZEP NASAL SPRAY as it may reduce your ability to be alert while driving or operating machines.

KIDNEY

ARZEP NASAL SPRAY should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

LIVER

ARZEP NASAL SPRAY should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

ALLERGY

Do not use ARZEP NASAL SPRAY if you are allergic to azelastine.

OTHERS

Use in Pediatrics:

ARZEP NASAL SPRAY can be used in children and adolescents (aged 6 years or above) if advised by the physician. It is not recommended for use in children younger than 6 years of age due to a lack of safety data. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

Use in Geriatrics:

ARZEP NASAL SPRAY should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
